Janet Wellman (Mayer)
Have just spent time looking at this great website and thought I'd write a short update on my life since 1960.

Went to college after graduation, but never finished until 1979 while living in So. Cal. Got a degree in recreation and worked for several years for the local YMCA starting an after-school child care program.

In 1966, I met my husband, Tom, who was going through Basic School at Quantico. We moved to Pensacola, FL., where he went to aviation training as a back-seater in the F-4 Phantom. After moves to Georgia and No. Carolina, he was sent to Viet Nam and I returned to Arlington for the year. By then we had 2 children (1 boy, 1 girl). Next move was to Brunswick, GA, where we had #3 (boy). Back to Springfield, VA, for 1 year, and then to Kaneohe, Oahu, HI, for 3 years. In 1977 we were sent to El Toro MCAS, CA. where Tom retired from in 1987.Since the kids had really grown up in CA., we decided to make it home.In 1996, we moved permanently to Palm Desert and have been there longer than any other home. To get away from the HOT summers, we spend 3 months in Park City, UT.

One son and daughter in San Diego, and youngest son in Bali, Indonesia. Five grandchildren between them.

This next year will make 50 years married, and we are taking a cruise with kids and grands to Alaska in Aug.

Thanks for putting together this reunion and website. Even though I can't make it, I do enjoy keeping tabs on all the doings.
