In February 1960, my mother moved our family from Arlington to Norfolk because of a death in the family. I stayed in Arlington to finish my senior year at Washington-Lee. I am glad I did. I moved to Norfolk that summer, I attended William and Mary Technical Institute. I started my civil service career with an apprenticeship in electronics. I started taking coursework in computer science and my career took a turn in that direction, I am currently employed by the Air Force in software development. I am a perpetual student of computer science. If I ever pick up my needed liberal arts course work, I will be able to graduate.

In my personal life I married Frances in 1969, became a father in 1976 and a grandfather in 2007.

I enjoy several leisure activities. I have been a amateur radio "ham" radio operator for more than fifty years. My music interests are oldies from the 1600's, 1700's, 1800's and Hillbilly music from the 40's and 50's. Of course rock an roll and pop form the late 50's. Twenty four years volunteer service with the Virginia Beach Police Department. As a sworn Police Officer I had to retire at age 65. I spent the last 10 years patrolling the city one night a week in a helicopter.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the 50th.
