Graduated Carson-Newman College and then received JD Degree from George Washington Univ. in 1967. Spent 25 years with Integon Corp., insuance company in Winston-Salem, NC. 12 years as General Counsel, 5 years as President & CEO. Took company public in 1992. Sold to GMAC in 1997. Since '97, have been practicing law in Winston-Salem and involved in several start up businesses. Have three daughters, all married, living in Hickory, NC, Prague, CZ, and London, England. Four grandchildren, 1 girl and 3 boys. Active in community, play golf, tennis, and enjoy musc and travel.
