I'm looking forward to seeing many of you on October 9! It's been an interesting 50 years. After leaving W-L, I earned BS and MS degrees from Va Tech and married Curt Tompkins. We have three children and three grandchildren. Curt's PhD and subsequent career took us to Atlanta (Ga Tech), Charlottesville's Colgate Darden Graduate Business School (faculty) (UVa), Morgantown, WV (14 years ending as Dean of Engineering at WVU), Houghton, MI (for 13 years as President of Michigan Technological University), Cambridge, MA (as Director of the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center of the USDOT), and Washington, DC, (Director, UTC/RITA/DOT/US Gov't). Along the way and when the children were settled in various school, I became Director of Development at the School of Medicine at WVU, then Executive Director of the Monongalia County, WV, United Way. When we moved to Michigan, I served for 11 seasons as Executive Director of the Pine Mountain Music Festival (an opera, symphony and chamber music summer festival) based in Hancock, MI, (while also volunteering as First Lady of Michigan Tech).
